Pre production
The most important part of our production process is the quality of the ingredients and the cleanliness of the environment where the nkuto is made.
Through tight communication with our suppliers and their certificates (EC 834/2007) we can ensure that 100% organic and raw ingredients go into our products. Now we've gone through the ingredients, lets get ready to cook!
Preparation & Heating
We start with pure organic raw shea butter in glass bowls, using the traditional double heater technique. Each batch is carefully heated to the precise temperature that preserves natural therapeutic properties, monitoring every degree to ensure the 'nkuto' reaches perfect consistency without losing beneficial compounds.
Natural Tools & Methods
We make sure to use only natural objects: glass bowls for heating, wooden spoons for stirring, and wooden tools for measuring. This traditional approach is common to generations of shea butter makers while ensuring no synthetic materials touch the ingredients.
Hand-Blending Process
Once cooled to blending temperature, we slowly incorporate each premium oil by hand using wooden spoons. The mixing process requires patience and gentle stirring that allows each oil to fully integrate while maintaining therapeutic integrity. In the final stage, after mixing in essential oils, the butter is left to rest and then cooled.
